Customer Reviewsfrom Minnesota July 17, 2011 Music Background: 30+ year guitarist, 25 years gigging A+This amp does it all. It's like having 5-6 amps in one. I've played for 30 years and this is the best amp I've owned. Endless tone shaping, but all of it genuine first class tone. I can dial in Fender, Vox, Marshall, and of course Boogie. Killer clean tones, killer reverb, killer tube gain tones. Plus the master volumes let you crank it up or dial it down, keeping the same tone. I traded in a high-end boutique "holy grail" amp on the TA-30 and have now stopped using 4 "tone enhancing" and gain pedals because I don't need them. Plus its lightweight and ultra portable with the included casters. Mesa should be proud - they designed a perfect combo amp.from Los Angeles, CA USA April 22, 2011 Music Background: Producer, Recording Engineer, Musician A great amp for vintage sounds, portability, and power.Even though the Vox AC30C2X is a killer amp, I decided to look for a new amp because it is too heavy to lug around to rehearsals. When I saw this amp on the Mesa Boogie site with its vintage voicings, I decided to give it a try. What I like about the all tube Mesa Boogie TransAtlantic TA30 1x12 Combo is that it is slightly larger and weighs a little more than a Fender 57 Tweed Deluxe, but it can be stupid loud if you need it. It has a custom made 12 inch Celestion that can handle 90 watts and sounds great on any of channel modes or settings. The TA30 gets those 50s & 60s Vox and Fender sounds along with the late 60s & early 70s Marshall and Boogie sounds. The Reverb in Tweed mode sounds just like the old Fender tanks and can get very big and wet if needed. The Reverb on the Normal/Top Boost modes is more subtle and smooth just like it is on my AC30. The Multi-Watt settings can give you dimed tones at lower levels, which is cool for rehearsals. The EQ is versatile and can be extreme if needed. Channel 1 and Channel 2 are completely independent of each other and have their own set of controls, so it's really like having two different amps that you can foot-switch between. The thing looks really cool/retro and lights up blue through the metal vent on top near the controls. fancy! The best thing about this amp? It's American made. I am glad to support a company that is still doing business in this country after 4 decades. Money well spent.
