Customer Reviewsfrom Las Vegas, NVE August 30, 2012Music Background: Home Studio recordings and Live venues. Useful & Great PriceWorks great. I use it to sync a Mackie Onyx Blackbird and Focusrite OctoPre MKII. Both lock within a second or two and I have had no clicks or pops in my recordings running upto 16 channels at 96/24. The only thing this thing is missing is a rackmount, hence the 4.5 vs. 5.0from USA March 31, 2012Music Background: Recording Engr. Sync: You Need It and You Need To Test For It.Preliminary review; have not bench tested the finer points of sync quality as of yet, out of the box it has a robust metal build quality with all the essential options and included accessories (minus cables of course) needed to do a real job and it can be used to test ‘Termination’ which is a very important part for acquiring sync. It is a good buy, at this price-point, why would you be working without one?A note on Sync-Cables: Trusted cabling is just as important and a must, my reputation hangs on the cables that I employ (as all professionals). Buy good cables specifically qualified for the job. In this case; 75ohm premium cable (Canare LV-61S) with good connections (Connectronics RCA-RC or BNC), with no need of paying so-call Designer-Name prices. The above cable was 6ft for $16. Audiophiles are known to pay up to hundreds for a similar cable connecting a DAC (and you gotta love these guy’s, they sometimes listen to their equipment and not the music but that too is what it’s all about, yeah). from Richmond Va April 5, 2010Music Background: Recording Engineer,Music Producer Don't let the price fool youI own a Digi 002 rack and i was taught if it works why fix it,but recently i've been looking to upgrade to HD Pro tools, but several producer friends of mind already own them and i have access to several system, but im more comfortable with my set up,i just wanted to improve the sound of mind,so i started researching different clocks and there specs, now i now the Apogee big ben is the monster of the all ,but if i spend that kind of money why not go Pro tools HD,so i decided to go inexpensive first i brought the ART,i was amazed at how it improved the sound and clarity of my mix ,plus you can't beat the price.
