Use the SurCode for Dolby E Decoder to quickly decode Dolby E - up to 8 channels - through your broadcast facility's existing 2-channel system. This professional format can travel through an existing AES/EBU audio pair, giving you eight channels of digital audio - as well as Dolby Digital metadata.

The Dolby E format is particularly well suited to large-scale broadcast facilities with a particularly long chain before final transmission. With a Dolby E system, you can decode, process, and re-encode many times - without audible degradation. Broadcasters often use Dolby E to get the audio to the transmitter - then use Dolby Digital to get the audio from the transmitter to the consumer.

RTAS, VST, and AWE compatible
Minnetonka's SurCode for Dolby E decoder works flawlessly within Pro Tools via RTAS as well as VST hosts - giving you a great solution for Dolby E decoding, without the usual gear synchronization issues associated with outboard decoding gear. The decoder plug-in can just appear in the insert chain on your channel strip, with all other plug-ins, and will decode your audio in sync with the timeline.
