  Okay sound, but poor quality
by Ollie Robinson from Bay Area, CA, May 2008
Music Background:  Home studio / hobbyist.

They sound okay but not great. Reasonable frequency response but they sound hollow and mid-range is too strong. They are cheaply made, but are given the illusion of being high-end -- lots of packaging and an initial outward appearance that indicates quality. Open them up and have a look inside however....

My pair suffered from dodgy connections on both the phono-input and on the aux-input at the front of the speakers that caused the channels to drop out. A wiggle of the cable fixed it most times, but the problem comes back. I need to set about them with a soldering iron.

Overall, not much to say about them really. These are not going to be replacing the sound of even super-budget real monitors anytime soon.

Best money I've ever spent period!
by Ducky Wang from Haleiwa,Hawaii, July 2007
Music Background:  guitar tech/recording/live/engineer

Have been mixing and mastering for 4 decades, When I lost my Tannoy Little Gold's I thought life was over. Thieves have no heart or soul...then I got my first set of Pro3's. I went back 2 days latter and bought out the stock. I use 6 sets in various configirations, lust at the first chord. It's mandatory all my clients have at least one set....2 are just awesome. I include a pair with all of my cash customers when they come for there masters.

  Excellent quality / Great price
by Victor from Sherbrooke, Qc, Canada, June 2007
Music Background:  Graphic designer

These speakers are great! I first purchased them to get some good sound in my room, but ended up replacing my old creative 4.1 speakers with them. Sound is really great and with the stands that comes with them, they play directly in your ears which is perfect for night usage without disturbing the neighbors like it would be with the usual sub woofer setting. Audiophiles without a big budget owe it to them selfs to get these speakers, hell! I didn't even imagine that I was one myself before I got these.

  Dont Let size Fool You
by Jarrett from North Brumswick, April 2007
Music Background:  Producer and Musician

I thought these little monitors weren't **** when i first bought them, but boy was i wrong, these monitors really bump, i create indusrty quality mixes with these bad boys, i strongly recommend this product to any producer trying to font there way.

  Real monitors, small package...
by kirilirik.com from Salt Lake City, UT USA, June 2006
Music Background:  Recording Artist/Producer

Pros: Well built, solid materials. Studio-grade sound quality in a portable package. Internationally compatible internal power supply. Surprisingly good low end response for a 3" speaker. Clear and present highs as well. Solid metal grates over the drivers for great protection while transporting. Overall, money well spent for the recordist on the go. Beats any multimedia speakers by a long shot.

Cons: Single amp in the left speaker powers both monitors, as opposed to both having their own amp. No individual volume control, single volume knob for both speakers. The whole system is connected by 1/8 inch jacks and an RCA input... 1/4's would be nice. ***You have to sit in close proximity to these in order to hit the sweet spot. My KRK RP5's work well about 3 - 6+ feet away, but these seem to work best at about 1.5 - 2.5 feet from my ears. Beyond that distance they begin to muddle rapidly. However, I couldn’t ask for more considering the modest price tag.

This was my first purchase from Sweetwater, and they were great. Fast delivery, and excellent service... I'll be back.
