WAVES Studio Classics Collection

Yea baby!!! This is the bundle every studio owner needs. Immediately took my mixes to a level far beyond where I was. As usual, Sweetwater did their part within 24 hours of placing my order...and the WAVES registration process went off without a hitch.

I contemplated for the longest time on weather to simply purchase a couple great sounding analog hardware processors ($5000+) or give the WAVES Studio Classics Collection a try. Turned out to be one of the smartest moves I've ever made...period!!! This bundle is like having $100,000 worth of the best studio gear you can buy, as you can plug in as many instances as your computer will allow. The V-Comp is awesome, the API 2500 Bus Compressor...also awesome. All of the SSL models are scarey good. With the addition of this bundle to my tool chest, I now have the front end, the middle, and the back end all covered. I have no excuses left...

Bottom line is, if you want pro mixes, you have to have pro gear. The Studio Classics Collection is pro gear, and will IMMEDIATELY put you in a different league!!!

Best bundle out there

Killer bundle and I use everything in it. Neve eqs are great for color, less for precision although you can clean up a lot with the filters. The V-comp also has a great color, real warm for the kick and bass. API 2500 kills the master buss and you can do absolutely anything with the SSL. I put the E Channel across every track on one mix and you would swear it was recorded on the real thing. Hard to find something bad about these. Even the price isn’t as much as you would expect from Waves considering what the real ones cost.

UNBEATABLE!!!

This is a really good package waves gives you great value for your money here although the SSL channel strip comes from the world famous consoles from back in the day were many hit songs were made from i still find myself using the api plugins more then the SSL i really like the sound better coming from the api plugs instead the V-Comp series inside this collection does'nt disappoint either the eq's sound good really able to get in and do some precision equing the V-Compressor works wonders on my master bus channel and speaking of bus compressors i prefer the api 2500 (Asbsolute Beast) bus compressor or the V-comp bus compressor over the SSL master bus compressor don't get me wrong i'm not knocking the SSL because i know that the SSL plugins and hardware console are being used on productions all over the world but to me the SSL G-E series channel strip and EQ seem to take away to much of the frequency when adjusting the gain i'm not really crazy about how the bandwidth handles either at this point the SSL sound just does not appeal to me yet!! not to say down the road that i won't fall in love with the SSL sound right now though it's API and V-Comp for me these two right off the bat appealed to me great!! distinct, punchy, controlled, sound.I guess that's why some Pro engineers in Pro studios who have a choice to choose consoles they go for API instead of SSL Believe it, IT's True! the great thing about it for me though is that i have the SSL at my disposal whenever i come to grips with it's sound The waves studio classics collection is a killer package, very happy with my purchase, also a big thanks to my sales engineer Mark Thompson who took care of my order and was able to ship the next day.

Solid

This is a good set of plug-ins they are solid and sound good. The API 525 is perfect as a drum bus compressor and the SSL g bus compressor is suitable to put on a master bus if you don't have a lot of mastering plug-ins. These are the top of the top but you can defiantly do a lot with these plug-ins.
