Customer Reviewsfrom Coatesville, Indiana October 22, 2011 Music Background: Worship Team Director Not the same old SquireI bought this guitar after playing a model like it in a guitar store. I was amazed at how solid this guitar really is. The tuners, two piece fulcrum bridge, knobs and switch are all very solid and made very well. Right out of the box this guitar was ready to play and since then, I've had no issues with tuning. Stays in tune very well even when playing the guitar hard. I've not done any serious wammy dives with it and don't expect to, so I can't comment on that. The three pickups are very Strat sounding and produce just about any tone you'd want from that twangy Strat sound to a warm bluesy sound. The color of my guitar is not quite as light as the one in the picture. It's a bit darker toned. I don't know if the paint scheme varies a little from each guitar. Over all, great guitar.from Florida June 23, 2011 Music Background: pro musician 3-4 gigs per week, guitar technician For $229.00 its a pretty good instrument.Body and finish look amazing.Listed as Agathis body. Nice see through grain that in some areas resembles alder and in some ash with a widwer grain pattern. not a great match job as 2/3 are a nice tight grain pattern and the top near the bought almost looks like a differnt wood. But it still looks great if you don't study it. Neck profile a bit strange but comfy. Like a cross between a 70's strat and...well something else.Mine buffed out to a decent gloss on the back of the neck. To make things really good it needs a fret dressing but many new guitars do regardless of price. This prohibits me from getting my action set perfect 1 high fret!!The Pickups are not fat sounding in fact very low output and lots of treble. the 1 3 5 positions hum really badly and when distortion is added......well I have to get a new set...they make more noise than music. Standard Mex strat pickups are way thicker and fatter sounding. Hey its a $200.00 guitar not a $999.00 American Standard! Good for beginners or pros that like to tinker. (and add more money in parts and labor than you paid or can sell it for) Save your money for a Highway or Blacktop or even Mex standard.
