A Custom '60s-era Strat

Biffy Clyro's guitarist Simon Neil has joined forces with Squier^® to create the signature Simon Neil Stratocaster^® solidbody electric guitar. This alder bodied Strat^® is based off of Simon's FENDER^® Custom Shop Time Machine™ '60s Stratocaster^®. You get custom vintage-style pickups, with staggered Alnico V and III pole pieces for a wide range of rhythm and lead tones. A modern C-shaped maple neck with rosewood fretboard, vintage-style tuners, and a vintage-style tremolo finish off this Fiesta Red signature Stratocaster. The Squier Simon Neil Stratocaster is modeled after Simon's iconic Fender Custom Shop Time Machine '60s Stratocaster^®, right down to the vintage tint on the maple neck. Simon's signature is emblazoned on the back of the headstock, with the Biffy Clyro band logo on the front. And just like Simon's working guitar, you get a trio of custom pickups that sound like no other.

The single-coil pickups on Squier's Simon Neil Stratocaster are unique, sporting a mix of Alnico III and Alnico V pole pieces - Alnico Vs for the bass strings, and Alnico IIIs for the treble strings. The configuration was chosen by Simon for the tonal versatility this mix provides.
