  • The looks and feel of a well-loved instrument

The looks and feel of a well-loved instrument
Few things in this world have gotten cooler with age than the Stratocaster guitar. Born in the '50s, Strats became even cooler after years of use (and abuse) on the road - morphing over time to look appealingly battered and feel even better than when they were brand new. Fender's new maple fretboard Road Worn '50s Strat delivers that aged look and feel. It's built to look, sound, and feel like it's got more than just a few miles on it! This Stratocaster is designed with 1950s specs, including a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. And this guitar backs up those authentic looks with great playing feel and the kind of tonality you'd expect from a pick-of-the-litter vintage instrument.

Classic-sounding pickups with a kick
Designed to give you the kind of clear, transparent highs you want from a Stratocaster while adding increased output and warmth, Fender's Tex-Mex single-coil pickups add a little kick to your tone when you need it. These classic-looking pickups use Alnico 5 magnets and work just like standard Strat pickups. They provide the perfect complement to this great guitar!

my go to strat

To start off the only reason I put 4.5 is I don't believe anything short of David gilmour's infamous black strat would be a full 5 Haha. Ive been a strat player since I started playing in 02' and this... read more [+] one has become my favorite one. I own a 94 us strat with maple neck emg dg-20s etc and a malmsteen clone made from a 96 mim strat. I had to modify both heavily before I found the setup I liked. This guitar was perfect off the rack, in fact the other roadworns I tried were great too but I just have a thing for black strats. I play a little bit of everything, blues, metal, jazz, and this guitar can keep up with my traynor ycv40 and my vox tonelab for the heavier stuff. The finish, or lack there of, lets this guy sing. Even unplugged its great to play on. The neck is nice and thick, most necks ive played are too small and my hand cramps up after an hour or two of playing. I'm in the military so it also been all over the world (nothing like playing some blues in front of your tent on a great strat and a little smokey amp on a quiet desert night lol) and has only slightly detuned enroute. close [-]
