An instant classic from the Fender Custom Shop! The Fender Custom Shop has been building dream guitars for the cream of the guitar crop for nearly 20 years. From faithful reproductions of classic axes of the past to fully tweaked customs built to an individual's personal specifications, few instruments command the level of respect afforded Fender Custom Shop models. There are degrees of Fender Custom Shop models: Stock Team-built and Team-built Custom. A select few instruments are handbuilt by the Master Luthiers, the same luthiers that build custom instruments for the likes of Eric Clapton, Kieth Richards, and Merle Haggard. Unique touches This Fender Custom Shop Strat boasts an alder body with a lacquer finish. The tinted maple neck is wrapped with a polyurethane finish and sports a period-appropriate oval "C" shape. A bullet truss rod runs the length of the neck to keep the action right where you want it. Vintage Schaller "F" tuners secure the strings to the vintage-style oversized headstock. The rosewood fingerboard is loaded with medium jumbo frets with pearl dots and a 9.5" radius. The 3-ply black pickguard and 5-way pickup switch help manage the Custom Shop Noiseless pickups. "Heavy Relic" treatment As a member of the Fender Custom Shop Time Machine Series, this Strat is treated with the Heavy Relic treatment. This means the instrument is finished to resemble an instrument that has enjoyed a long life of heavy use. This includes significant wear and tear to the finish, dings to the body, neck, and headstock, and aged hardware. The end result is an instrument that looks like it's been around for a while and plays like a broken-in instrument.
