Strap On This '60s Strat And Fall Back In Time! Fender's Time Machine Series pays homage to specific years of classic designs. These collectibles are built to exacting specs of their respective vintages including body contours, neck shape, fingerboard radius, pickups and electronics. Original materials, tooling and production techniques are employed whenever possible to maintain the integrity of these instruments. Available in three distinct custom finish packages (New Old Stock, Closet Classic and Relic) making these instruments collector's items right out of the box! Fender Time Machine '60 Stratocaster Relic at a Glance:
A detailed recreation of a 1960 Strat both inside and out! Cosmetically, the '60 Strat Relic features an alder body, '60s "C" shape maple neck, clay dot markers, and for the first time in its history, a smaller truss rod and slab-laminated rosewood fingerboard. Plus, these guitars were now offered in a selection of custom colors. The pickup design is accurate to the original, as far as materials and windings, producing a characteristically smooth, glassy tone. Relic The Time Machine '60s Stratocaster Relic is like an old friend that's been with you through it all. A note about the finish: Completely worn in, like your favorite pair of jeans! Shows natural wear and tear of years of heavy use - nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts. The Relic looks, feels and PLAYS like it's taken the punishment of many long nightclub hours. Fender '60 Strat Relic Features:
When you buy a Fender Time Machine '60 Stratocaster Relic from Sweetwater, it's like having one made just for you - aside from our exclusive 55-point quality control evaluation and basic set-up, the only person who puts their hands on it is you! Fender Guitars You could easily make the case that Fender electric guitars were responsible - at least in great part - for the birth of modern rock 'n' roll. Originally designed to be easier to build, and thus more affordable, Leo Fender's masterpieces, which include classics like the Stratocaster (is there a more distinctive guitar shape in the world?), the Telecaster and the original Precision Bass, were at the core of a musical revolution that spawned everything from surf to country to punk! In the 1960s, when Fender guitars first hit bandstands and stages all around the country, it was astonishing to see that trademark Fender rosewood neck and fingerboard. Though the company eventually offered rosewood fingerboards as standard or optional on its entire line of instruments, those first "blond" necks really shook things up. Others have picked up on the rosewood neck theme, but it's clearly yet another of Leo Fender's "firsts." Today, no other manufacturer can match Fender for the sheer number of options available throughout its entire line. While vintage Fenders can command astronomic prices, the company now has the widest range of quality instruments in the world, along with the highest profile players like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, all of whom are legendary.
