1st Rate Strat

Really nice Strat. Playability and tone, though different, are on par with my Suhr. Dimarzio's sound great. Small changes in the volume & tone controls bring about meaningful tonal changes.The Strat was perfectly setup and ready to play though I did raise the action a hair. Others might not have bothered. I did toe-in the 2 outside trem springs. I think one was rubbing the ground wire and affecting intonation. The roller nut works as advertised and if it negatively affected the tone as some claim I would disagree. The contoured heel should be standard on all bolt on necks. A really nice touch. All the frets were perfectly finished with super smooth ends. Though the 2 tone sunburst isn't going to turn heads, it is beautifully finished. My only real complaint (I believe it applies to all Fender tremolos) is some slop in the trem arm and there is no adjustment to keep the arm from flopping around. Suhr does it right. Nonetheless great tone and great playability. I can't imagine anyone not loving this guitar. I was thinking of giving this a 41/2 star rating for the trem but so what? A wonderful guitar.My juices are starting to crave a Custom Shop Tele.
