From Our Research Team:The Rebirth of Fender's Original "Super Strat"!A few years back, FENDER® released a surprisingly upscale Strat® with a more surprisingly low price tag. Now, by popular demand, the company has released the Deluxe Player's Stratocaster®, an updated version of the former Super Strat®. Upgraded with American-made Vintage Noiseless™ pickups, this guitar not only sounds great, but with a 12-inch neck radius and medium jumbo frets, it's a real workhorse of a guitar. And, don't forget about the push button switch that gives the player seven different pickup combinations!Fender Deluxe Player's Strat at a Glance:
Superbly playable and supremely affordable There's not another Strat in the entire Fender line that offers up so much "bang for the buck!" You start with that classic custom contoured Strat body with all its sleek lines. The solid ash body sports an eye-catching Sapphire Blue Transparent polyester finish which contrasts nicely with the four-ply brown tortoiseshell pickguard and the gold plated hardware. You can easily bend notes or entire chords up or down with the vintage style synchronized tremolo unit, but you'll always stay in tune thanks to the ageless Leo Fender design. And consider this: There's no other Strat at this price point that gives you access to so many pickup voicings - seven in all! Best of all, this wonderfully playable guitar comes with a surprisingly affordable price tag. The Trademark Strat Sound - Plus! The original Strat had three single coil pickups, so it was able to produce sounds that no other guitar could deliver, particularly once Player's discovered they could lodge the three-position blade switch in those "in-between" positions to access neck / middle and bridge / middle pickup combinations. These were often erroneously referred to as the "out-of-phase" settings. The Deluxe Player's Strat ships with premium Vintage Noiseless Strat pickups and a five-way blade switch, so you can easily access the extra pickup voicings. But that's not all! Like the original Super Strat®, it adds a special push button that activates the bridge pickup in positions 4 and 5, giving the Deluxe Player's Strat seven possible pickup combinations for extraordinary tonal possibilities. Fast Playing Maple Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard Leo Fender wasn't afraid to "think outside the box" when it came to guitar designs - after all, he was an engineer, not a guitar player. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blond natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. The Deluxe Player's Strat comes with a one-piece maple neck and adds a more traditional rosewood fingerboard, but with a modern "C" shape and a slightly wider 12-inch radius for super smooth licks, runs and arpeggios. In keeping with contemporary player preferences, the fast playing neck is finished in a silky-smooth satin polyurethane. Fender Deluxe Player's Strat Features:

July 6, 2012 Music Background: Hobbyist took lessons for several years This is a great guitar
by Stephen Hovious from Mattoon Illinois USA
When I got this guitar, I knew I was going to get something reliable, but man I didn't know what a great guitar this would be. I love it, I can't seem to tear myself away from it. I love the clean blu... read more [+]esy sounds with it, and then flip on some distortion and your rockin'! And the whammy bar much to my surprise doesn't pull the guitar horribly out of tune. I love it. close [-]
December 25, 2010 Music Background: Semi- Professional musician. Good, but heavy, guitar
by Jared Hoerr from United States of America
I love this guitar. It's my first Strat, and definitely not my last. The ash body (i think) makes it ridiculously heavy, it's heavier than my friend's Epiphone Les Paul. The 7 way switching is great, ... read more [+]it took me a while to figure out what the button did. It stays in tune very well when using the tremolo, and I haven't done a single thing to the nut, tuners, or the tremolo. The gold hardware isn't as shiny as it once was, but since it's a 1999-2000 model, why should it be? I got it with a maple neck, which looks really good because of its vintage-style tint. It handles palm-muting pretty well, too. close [-]
December 9, 2010 Music Background: Hobbyist, Student Deluxe Players Strat
by dan from Colorado
This is a great concept: provide a package of the players' most desired features in one reasonably priced guitar. There are, however, some problems. The ash body on mine was not musical instrument gr... read more [+]ade--it was not even furniture grade. There was a small crater on the fingerboard, and a tiny volcano near the bridge that was beginning to send eruptions to the surface. The nut at high E was cut wrong, leaving the string to slide off the neck. The frets were sharp enough to draw blood. There was a stream of oil coming from a tuning key, and the pickups, while noiseless, lacked any character. No cluck, no quack, and POOF! No reason to buy. I sent it back. close [-]
