American Series Strat Goes Upscale with the Custom Classic Have you ever wondered what would happen if you took Fender's American Series Strat and then had one of their master craftsmen build a Custom Shop version? Okay, maybe you didn't, but that's exactly what Fender did! The Custom Classic Stratocaster is the Custom Shop's version of the American Series Strat. Features include a thin-finished ash body, lightly-figured soft "V"-shaped maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5-inch radius. The Custom Classic also comes standard with three Modern Classic single-coil pickups, including the Hot Classic bridge pickup with custom steel inductance plate. This Strat's so hot, you'll need a pot holder to take it out of the deluxe hardshell case! Fneder Custom Classic Stratocaster V-Neck at a Glance:
When You're Looking for Something More from Your Guitar It's true: This Strat isn't for everyone. But it's the perfect choice for players who won't accept anything less than the very best. Each Custom Classic Strat V-Neck is lovingly crafted in Fender's Custom Shop only by the very best builders. Check out that sweet custom contoured premium ash body with its jewel-like Bing Cherry Transparent polyurethane finish. See how beautifully the three-ply parchment pickguard and aged plastic parts complement the finish. Now run your fingers up and down the lightly-figured maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Listen to the awesome tone of the specially designed pickups. Uh oh! Now you know you've got to have this one - because yeah, it's really that good. But it's okay, you deserve it, because you're as every bit as passionate about your music as Fender is in building its Custom Shop guitars. Three Specially Designed Classic Single Coils The original Strat had three single coil pickups, so it was able to produce sounds that no other guitar could deliver, particularly once players discovered they could lodge the three-position blade switch in those "in-between" positions to access neck / middle and bridge / middle pickup combinations. These were often erroneously referred to as the "out-of-phase" settings. This Custom Classic Strat has two Modern Classic single coils in the neck and middle positions, while a Hot Classic single coil with custom steel inductance plate sits in the bridge position. Plug this baby in and tell everyone to stand back. Hit that big open E chord and revel in the incredibly hot sound that's literally exploding from your amp! Lightly-figured Soft "V"-Shaped Maple Neck Leo Fender wasn't afraid to "think outside the box" when it came to guitar designs - after all, he was an engineer, not a guitar player. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blond natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. Our Custom Classic has a nicely figured one-piece maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with a soft "V"-shape and 9.5-inch radius. The final touch is in the polished satin urethane finish that makes this one of the fastest playing Strats on the planet! Fender Custom Classic Stratocaster V-Neck Features:
Fender Guitars You could easily make the case that Fender electric guitars were responsible - at least in great part - for the birth of modern rock 'n' roll. Originally designed to be easier to build, and thus more affordable, Leo Fender's masterpieces, which include classics like the Stratocaster (is there a more distinctive guitar shape in the world?), the Telecaster and the original Precision Bass, were at the core of a musical revolution that spawned everything from surf to country to punk! In the 1960s, when Fender guitars first hit bandstands and stages all around the country, it was astonishing to see that trademark Fender maple neck and fingerboard. Though the company eventually offered rosewood fingerboards as standard or optional on its entire line of instruments, those first"blond" necks really shook things up. Others have picked up on the maple neck theme, but it's clearly yet another of Leo Fender's "firsts." Today, no other manufacturer can match Fender for the sheer number of options available throughout its entire line. While vintage Fenders can command astronomic prices, the company now has the widest range of quality instruments in the world, along with the highest profile players like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, all of whom are legendary. When you buy a Fender Custom Classic Strat from Sweetwater, it's like having one made just for you - aside from our 40-point quality control evaluation and basic set-up, the only person who puts their hands on it is you! |
