Available in a variety of colors, these upgrades position the American Standard Stratocaster as a modern classic!Fender American Standard Stratocaster at a Glance:
American Standard Stratocaster Bridge The American Standard Stratocaster sports a new bridge that gives sought-after tone with modern smooth trem travel. This redesigned block retains the mass and tone of a vintage bridge block, but is chambered for access to deeper dives. The new saddles have the classic look and tone, but with modern improvements such as spacing, slot elongation, and height screw length). Bridge Components The American Standard Stratocaster incorporates bent steel Fender saddles. The original vintage-style Fender bent steel adjustable saddle is one of the components that give vintage Fenders their tonal 'mojo.' Fender conducted tone comparison tests, and discovered the magic all over again. Sonically, they have a wider tonal range and more character than the other saddles. Then Fender improved them, narrowing the spacing to afford more room (and complement the bigger frets and rolled edges), and also elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, while improving the string break angle over the primary contact point. The end result: more tone from your American Standard Strat! Fender SKB Case The new case is a true advancement in guitar presentation and protection. It is stackable, it balances perfectly, it is TSA lock equipped, and has glass reinforced nylon trigger latches and a killer form-fitted plush interior. ReviewsNice offering for lefties!

Really nice that Fender offers American Standards in other colors for lefties. And thanks to Sweetwater for stocking them! Fit and finish is great. Unlike the standard offerings from Fender this AmStd... read more [+] does not have the Delta-tone circuit. Nor was it advertised as having it. And that's fine with me. The only beef I had with this guitar (and the reason why I notched it a half star) is the pots were wired backwards. That means two things. The numbers on the knobs didn't correspond correctly., i.e. on the volume control "1" is loud and "10" is off. But worse than that. The tone controls did not work right at all. The pots are audio taper and that taper only works in one direction of rotation. What happens when they're wired backwards (lefty) is the tone controls have no affect on the tone until you hit the end of the pot. Then the tone goes completely dark - like flipping a switch. Totally useless. I opened up the guitar and rewired it so all the pots work right-handed. Now the tone controls work fine. And the numbers on the controls correspond correctly. Sadly this is not unusual for us lefties. I have 9 lefty electrics and I've had to rewire every one of them. It would be nice if OEMs learned this. Either put reverse taper pots in the guitars or just go ahead and wire them right-handed. To be honest - I'm used to righty-wired pots. I've had to do it for so long now it's normal to me. They could just go ahead and wire them like they do for all those backwards (to me) guitars. close [-]
