The latest model of the Fender American Standard Stratocaster sports three Custom Shop Fat 50s single-coil pickups, an amazing value on a guitar at this price. Normally only used on Fender's top-line Custom Shop guitars, these pickups put out the essence of classic Fender tone. Cleans are bright and clear, the midrange has bite, and you can take your tube amplifier from mellow to raging simply with your volume control. American Standard Stratocaster Bridge The American Standard Stratocaster boasts a bridge that gives sought-after tone with modern smooth trem travel. This redesigned block retains the mass and tone of a vintage bridge block, but is chambered for access to deeper dives. A typical cast bridge block is impregnated with a resin to eliminate 'voids' in the material and to bond it together. Fender's new steel block is infused with copper, which makes the block 100% homogeneous metal. The result is a more musical, higher mass bridge that has more of that machined-block sound. As guitars go this is the 25th one I own. Got it from Sweetwater as a Christmas gift. 1.. It came boxed/new/and inspected 2. Nice case. 3. The best playing fender I have. I own all kinds of other make... read more [+]s/brands and models. The nicest thing is the smooth playablitity. I stays in tune when gently using the tremelo. The finish and craftsmanship is as expected for a $1000 US guitar. That is to say its well done. Now the only reason it doesn't get a perfect score 1. I have many top ibanez guitars that are ar well made for the same price and play better. Especially the equally price Ibanez premium I got at Sweetwater last year 2. Although the are great sounding vintage pickups they are a bit too noisy(especially) on distorted tones for my taste. Otherwise I absolutely love it and if this is going to be an all around great playable and cherished guitar. close [-]
