Customer Reviewsfrom st charles, IL December 8, 2011 Music Background: Pro Musician Beautiful!I am blown away by this guitar. I special order the Olympic White with maple fretboard and it arrived perfectly set up (courtesy of the Sweetwater guitar techs) - I swapped out the pick ups with the Yngwie Malmsteen DiMarzio set other than that I left it as is. Stays in tune wonderfully, plays like butter and although it is a made in mexico it plays, feels and sounds way better than the USA Fender's I've owned that cost 3 times as much (Several of them!).I've been trying different guitars for years trying to find the right one. This is it! Great job Fender on this guitar! Planning to order another one with rosewood fretboard pretty soon! :) from Nashville March 24, 2010 Music Background: Pro- live and studio. I remember the REAL 70's Strats....I'm 47, ok.Fender couldn't make Stratocasters fast enough to meet the demand in the 70's and they were sloppy-made. This new white Classic 70's strat is exactly 10x better than those originals. The workmanship is flawless-and I mean FLAWLESS. Perfect. The pickups are accurate reproductions too. Zingy top end and a nice smooth bass sound. Not boomy. I did what I do with all Strats- and that is to wire the tone control to the bridge pickup. That way you can roll off a bit of that harsh top end that Strats have. The pickups seem to me to be a little on the weak side- definitely NOT hot pickups, which is what I like for a strat- to give a real string-y, funky, rhythm sound. Think Nile Rodgers "La Freak" . You wont be disappointed with this guitar. Its better than I thought it would be- and if you remember the original 70's guitars I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
