by Russ House from Washington, IL USA
The Dunlop Traditional 2-piece Straplok System has done what it is supposed to do so far after a month on my Strat. My confidence is growing that my strap isn't going to fall off at the wrong time...... read more [+]or any time for that matter. However, if you care about your guitar, you will NEVER take both hands off of it at any time...that's just plain carelessness!April 19, 2012 Music Background: Christian Praise & Worship Rock The screws are a size larger than what comes stock in a Fender Stratocaster, so as much as I was loath to do it, I drilled the bridge-side hole to the size specified in the Straplok kit and also somewhat deeper. But, the alternative is to attempt to force the larger screw into the smaller hole...a recipe for disaster. So, drill the hole. It's worth it. I left the Straplok off the horn of the guitar, though, because I wasn't comfortable using my drill there. I'm careful anyway, but now I don't really worry about the bridge end of the strap coming off. As for the product itself, it's okay, it works, and it looks pretty. It matches the gold hardware on the guitar pretty well, but not exactly. But, who's going to look that closely except you or me? I gave it a 3.5 because it isn't really great, but it's better than really good. Don't worry about the screws not being gold-finished, as they're buried deep inside the female piece that's on the guitar. close [-] Also popular
