A truly awesome collection of drum sounds from around the world
From Mickey Hart's private collection of one-of-a-kind hand drums such as The Beast and the Double Headed Tree Drum to standards including bongos, tablas, and frame drums, Stormdrum 3 has it all. This collection of drum sounds is so extensive that EastWest had to break it down into seven categories, each of which is well worth the price of admission alone. No matter what percussion textures are needed, the composers at Sweetwater know they can find it in Stormdrum 3.
Make your ensembles come to life with powerful effects and processors
Along with Stormdrum 3, EastWest introduced their upgraded OPUS virtual instrument engine. In addition to support for Avid's AAX plug-in format, OPUS comes complete with a host of new effects and other creative capabilities. The OPUS mixer provides you with sub channels for individual mic positions, giving you advanced control over your Stormdrum 3 ensembles, and a redesigned reverb lets you add realistic depth to your sound. On top of that, there are cool dynamics tools such as a transient shaper and SSL master bus compression to give your drums extra punch.
Expertly recorded at EASTWEST Studio 1 in the heart of Hollywood
It's important to note that Stormdrum 3 isn't just some random collection of drums captured by run-of-the-mill engineers and percussionists; it's a top-level collection of drums and percussion performances created by masters including Mickey Hart, Greg Ellis, and Chalo Eduardo, produced by legendary Hollywood engineer Nick Phoenix. And nearly all of Stormdrum 3 was recorded in the world-famous EASTWEST Studio 1, a studio where countless major television and film soundtracks have been created.
