Cheaply Made, iPads Fall Out

We purchased 12 of these for our school iPads and to say the experience was poor is an understatement. After installing them, two failed right away. The screw that locks and governs the up and down ... read more [+]tilt is poorly designed and made and does not properly lock after a couple of uses OR at all. At first, I thought I got a few lemons, but when I sent one back, right out of the box, the replacement did the same thing.

As if that weren't bad enough, the iPads are secured in this mount only by cheap plastic tabs that bend and allow you to slip the iPad in at all 4 corners. After removing it a couple of times, they are shot.

I just got a call this morning that another one of our brand new iPads just fell out and screen cracked because of this poorly made and designed clip.

Sweetwater is great, and actually my sales engineer recommended a different mount - the Peavy, but they are more popular and weren't in stock at the time. I'm going to go ahead and send the rest back now before anymore iPads fall out and replace them with the less expensive and more capable Peavy product. I'm not sure why Sweetwater sells this product though. close [-]
