This Cool Guitar Isn't Your Everyday Acoustic!

Pick up your FENDER® Sonoran S and hit the beach! This laid-back California Series Fender guitar is made to play, so go on and surf the fretboard until the sun comes up. The second you strum a chord, you'll be surprised by the Sonoran S's powerful voice — it's got a solid spruce top for full acoustic character you're going to love. But with this 6-string acoustic, we've got to talk about style. Just take a look at that Fender Stratocaster® headstock and that vintage-vibed pickguard — the Sonoran S is one cool guitar.

Fender Sonoran S 6-string Acoustic Guitar at a Glance:
  • Great tone and a comfortable body style that begs to be played
  • Cool vibe with a chilled out look

Great tone and a comfortable body style that begs to be played
The sweet thing about the Sonoran S is that you get awesome acoustic tone, without spending a fortune. This is definitely a cool "first guitar" — and also a great upgrade for any seasoned acoustic player. In the name of tone, the Sonoran S has a solid spruce top. It's a very popular acoustic guitar tonewood, because it gives you a round and powerful voice. This is the kind of guitar you'll want to bring into the coffee shop and hit the next open mic. Of course, apart from hearing this one, you'll totally dig playing this one. It has a cutaway body style, so it's easy to play up and down the neck. And speaking of neck, it's got a vintage "C"-shaped neck, so the Sonoran S will fit perfectly into your palm.

Cool vibe with a chilled out look
Yes, it's about tone, but it's also about vibe. And the Sonoran S definitely has vibe. Lots of it. Check out the headstock on this one — it's the same shape as Fender's iconic Stratocaster®, so you've got a unique-looking acoustic guitar that's going to draw in eyes. Also cool, the rosette around the soundhole sports a checkerboard design, giving the Sonoran S a touch of flair. Last but not least, the pickguard isn't your standard tortoise-shell color... it's a vintage-inspired design for another cool, unique touch. Like we said, this is one cool guitar.

A pleasant surprise at any price

I was looking for a dreadnaught that I could use at outdoor jams and open mic nights....and I did not want to spend a bundle...and of course I did not expect a full and robust sound at the price point... read more [+] I was considering. So, I let aesthetics be the main area of concern...at least it would look good for the money...WELL....WHAT A SURPRISE I HAD WHEN IT ARRIVED AND I OPENED IT AND GAVE IT IT'S FIRST STRUM AND PICK....THIS GUITAR IS NOT TINNY NOR THIN....Now, it does not sound like some aged Gibson (or a new Gibson or Martin of any pedigree...) but it compares nicely with the lower end Blueridges, the Epiphone Masterbuilts and the Formica backed Martins...in fact, it beats the Formica backed Martins.....and with the solid top and real wood (though laminated) back and sides...it will age and become even more complex....THIS IS A DECENT GUITAR THAT CAN BE USED ONSTAGE...MAYBE NOT CARNEGIE HALL...BUT CERTAINLY AT JOE'S BAR AND GRILL...OR THE COFFEE HOUSE...and it records pretty well to.....nicely balanced.......I have been playing since the late 1960's and have owned quite a few of the best....and this guitar is worth keeping...at least for a good while..... close [-]
