Unless you are looking to purchase a Custom Shop with your own spec's there is no reason not to give this guitar a try.May 19, 2011 Music Background: Guitar Player -35 years The guitar arrived in perfect condition, nice that Sweetwater actually goes through the product before shipping out. The string height will need to be adjusted but that is ok. The neck for me is perfect, it looks like someone spent a lot of time on the fret work. Just wonderfully done!! No slop in assembly that I can find. Now for the tone, very warm when playing clean. Can kind of get a little fender strat tone going. When you roll off the volume it remains clear and doesn't get muddy. I use a EVH 5151III Amp... As for overdrive and all out in your face drive the guitar is as aggressive as you want it to be. As for the Floyd R, once you get your strings stretched there are no issues with tuning. Going to buy the San Dimas next for sure. It has a compound radius, very detailed fretwork and the unfinished... read more [+] oiled neck makes it very playable. The pickups and switching options make it very versatile. The Tone Zone has always been one of my favorite bridge pickups and the Evolution neck pickups matches up with it nicely; the center switch position selects a single coil from the neck and a single coil from the bridge pickups. The tremolo is a licensed Floyd Rose not an original, it works well and stays in tune, but there is a loose feel to the arm. The case is very nice hard shell case and overall this guitar was a lot more than I expected for a guitar in this price. close [-]
