Customer Reviewsfrom Washington, D.C. November 21, 2011 Music Background: Live Sound Engineer correction! SiC has 4 mute groups.Important correction: the above review incorrectly states that there are no mute groups, so you have to switch to the second layer to mute the FX. Actually, all three versions of this console have 4 mute groups - easily assignable one of more of the FX returns in seconds! I've only played with a demo, but the interface really seems better than an LS9. I figured that correction deserved an extra star right? :)from Elkhart,In. November 4, 2011 Music Background: Live Sound Engineer Si compact review Pros/ConsI have had the pleasure of using one as a demo of two gigs. both outdoors in northern Indiana over the last two Notre Dame home game weekends. ND Vs. USC and ND Vs. Navy. Team pep rally/concert series.First thing I noticed vs. the previous mixer(Yamaha LS9) is the noticable Soundcraft headroom. Much more gain and clarity for my vocal mic check. Everything is laid out on the top section of the mixer, with enough space on the left top to place your I-pad. Now the cons- I did not like the soft buttons for each channel select as they were prone to stick. maybe it was the wheather as it was outside and a bit colder on the second weekend. For a 24ch mixer the last 2 ch. 23-24 are on the secon layer along with effects return level faders. so some time to get used to not having them on the 1st layer makes for ending of songs a bit of a challenge as you have to select layer 2 then fade down the effect ch. as no mute group or assignable keys are available. |
