I realized I was going to be getting an awesome product from Sweetwater, but even I must admit, that I was blown away. The Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 I recently purchased is working perfectly and the sound is impeccable. Excellent preamps, good solid construction, nice look. I had an old interface called the presonus audiobox usb and it was giving me a lot of backround or hissing noise that would land in my recordings... read more [+], this one however is much quieter. I can even crank the gain up pretty high and still have a clear sound. Definitely an upgrade overall. I have only positive things to say about this product. close [-]

I have had the unit for about a month, it is being used for online 'studio' practices and DAW interfacing. March 4, 2013 Music Background: live sound & musician LIKES: I like the unit, all jacks are well marked for their purposes. Indicator lig... read more [+]hts are easy to read, software is easy to use, and displayed intuitively. Like the quick adjustments that can be made of the front of the unit, the virtual sound adjustments have a very nice warm sound to them. If you need cold and clean you can get that from this unit too, just turn off the extra effects. Dislikes: Wish it had a slightly higher volume output. I am not going to blame the unit since it may simply be my audio card. One final thought in closing- my wife and I fill up 4 input channels on this (and if you check there are only 4 line inputs) on the 8i6, definitely get the next larger unit! Those line inputs are what most people need, and the cost is minimally more for significantly more line inputs. Otherwise it is a great unit, and I thank Dustin Keesbury for pointing me toward the Focusrite units. close [-] Still Learning

I've been producing through the computer for many years, but have always used outboard gear, like a mixer, etc. Going totally digital was a little scary, but I knew I had to do it to keep up. So, I go... read more [+]t this little interface, and am still on a learning curve. My problem is deciphering between what is going to actually be put on CD, and what I am hearing on the speakers. Going from one virtual mixer to the next is a little hard for my brain to envision. Turning virtual buttons on and off is nice, but I'd like to understand it better. It would help if I understood hardware sends and such. But, overall I like it. close [-]
