From Our Research Team:

The Hot Distortion Sound of a Guitar Legend in a Cool Pedal!

The Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal gives you the authentic sound of one of rock's most revered and imitated guitarists, Joe Satriani. Using Satch's approach to his tone (a distortion unit going into a clean amp), the Satchurator features controls for gain, tone, and volume, as well as a boost switch, a pad to attenuate high-gain signals from other pedals in the chain, and a responsive Dynamic circuit, which allows you to get a great range of distortion tones with your guitar's volume knob without sacrificing high frequencies. All hail the Satchurator!

Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal at a Glance:
  • Built from experience
  • Ultimate Satch tone
  • Preserves tone and pick attack

Built from experience
Drawing on Joe Satriani’s knowledge accumulated from decades of groundbreaking performances, both live and in the studio, The Satchurator is designed to Satriani’s exact specifications. It produces Satriani’s signature tone while combining great features, innovative design, and easy operation.

Ultimate Satch tone
After almost a year of painstaking experimentation and road testing, Satriani and the VOX R&D team discovered the secrets to capturing the ultimate distortion tone in a modern-day pedal. The Satchurator is capable of very high gain levels, but operates more quietly and musically than other modern distortion pedals.

Preserves tone and pick attack
The Satchurator also preserves the tone and pick-attack of the guitarist plugging into it, regardless of style, from subtly distorted blues tones through classic rock and shred. The result is a professional-quality pedal that recaptures sought-after vintage and modern sounds in a powerful, versatile and extremely musical pedal design.

Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal Features:
  • Analog distortion pedal designed under the complete supervision of Joe Satriani
  • Controls for Gain, Tone and Volume
  • ‘More’ gain boost switch enables two footswitchable distortion sounds in one pedal
  • ‘Pad’ switch pads down input to allow for high gain pedals (such as modern wahs) placed before Satchurator
  • High gain, low noise design provides vintage to modern distortion sounds
  • Dynamic circuit is highly responsive
  • Cream chicken-head knobs for precise positioning and high visibility on dark stages
  • Controls: Gain, Tone, Volume, On/Off Switch, ‘More’ Switch, Pad Switch
  • In/Outputs: 1/4" Input, 1/4" Output

The Vox Satchurator Distortion Pedal puts the sound of a legend at your feet!

Awesome Pedal, Needs Better Paintjob

by Mike from Kentucky

Music Background: Have played semi-professionally for 20+ years. Mainly Hobbyist now.
I have owned this pedal for about one year. Beautiful sounding gain. The tone knob is only useful up until about 10 o clock for my Fender Strate and Charvel guitars. After that way too thin/tinish. ... read more [+] Also the paint is very thin. I had a pedal come loose from my pedal board and just some minor rubbing took some paint off the satchurator.

As others have noted I cannot hear any difference using the pad switch.

That being said this thing really rocks. I don't regret this purchase. If lost/stolen I would replace without a second thought. close [-]

Smoken hot distortion and the more button is an excellent secret weapon to blow past everyone in the band for that lead solo. Great quality and very easy to use.

Hottest Pedal Ever!

This may just be the last distortion pedal I'll ever need. I have an old Marshall JCM800 and this pedal gives me the over the top distortion I've always wanted. It also gives me a great smokey blues ... read more [+]tone and clean tone at the same time effectively turning my single channel tube amp into a three channel monster.

It also gives me this incredible feedback at just about any volume.

This being the hottest pedal around and having been just released, the manufacturer was slow to supply and meet demand. But Sweetwater was amazing in terms of customer service. They didn't have one to ship to me initially, but I must have received three phone calls letting me know about the delays. I even got a call after receiving it to see if every thing was good and how I liked the product!

This being my first order from Sweetwater, I was very impressed with the customer service (What company does this anymore?) and will definitely be a repeat customer!

Thanks Sweetwater! close [-]

Great Pedal!

This pedal is very good on. It's probably one of the best pedals I've every played on (and I have a massive distortion/overdrive collection). It is a little hotter than the Boss DS1 and has the boost ... read more [+]for solos. The only reason I do not give it a 5 is that I cannot have total control of the eq (I like pedals that have a low mid and high knobs so I can dial in on the tone I want), and the gain at its lowest level is a little too hot. Other than these two things, I love this pedal because I get most of the sounds I like when I add my Ibanez TS7 to it along with a compressor and the MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay. I pull sounds from Eric Johnson's fuzzy distorted sound to 'The Real Super Joe' Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. close [-]
