From Our Research Team:

A Novel Approach to Pro Guitar Wireless

Samson's AirLine Synth Guitar Wireless System represents over 25 years of innovation in the wireless industry. The "Synth" in its name refers to the synthesized tuning method used by its ultra-frequency-agile transmission technology with over 300 available channels. You can easily run up to ten additional AirLine Synth Wireless Systems right along with it, so cutting the whole band loose from cables is a snap. With just a couple button presses, you're up a running. No hassles, no setbacks — you'll love how easy AirLine Synth Guitar Wireless Systems are to use!

AirLine Synth Guitar Wireless System includes:
  • One AG300 guitar transmitter
  • One AR300 receiver

The AG300 guitar transmitter is sleek and incredibly high tech. it sports a versatile, dual-mount jack that swivels to fit both Fender- and Gibson-style jack configurations. More importantly, the whole unit is contained in the lightweight jack, so you don't have to worry about keeping track of a bodypack transmitter. Onboard is a precision guitar preamplifier that keeps your guitar's signal pure without adding color or jeopardizing its dynamic range. It's like having an invisible cable running from your guitar to your receiver! Handy features like a easy-to-read digital channel display, low battery, and mute switch for quiet hot swapping make operating the AirLine Synth Guitar Wireless System smooth and worry free.

The AR300 Airline Synth Receiver gives you crystal-clear reception in a roadworthy unit that you can take anywhere. Automatic RF scanning and infrared programming provide a rock-solid wireless connection without the need to dial in frequency information. A backlit LED display lets you check AF/RF levels, frequency, output level, and group assignment in any lighting condition. For added convenience, you can even rackmount up to four Ar300 Airline Synth Receivers together in a single rackspace.

I followed the normal path of reading the reviews and decided upon this unit. Once it arrived it only took a few minutes to unpack and set up. Straight forward on set up, absolutely no issues. I have had the same AA in the transmitter for a couple weeks and probably have 14 hours or so. This was a great buy and is a good system. I have since purchased a backup transmitter. close [-]

Airline Synth is great!

The sound quality is great. No belt pack is the best! The body is more rugged than the AKG bug. The Samson doesn't swivel, you just screw the input plug into one of two holes on the transmitter and co... read more [+]nnect to the guitar. This takes a couple of seconds, so it's quick to go back and forth between different guitar types. It runs for a very long time on alkaline batteries, I do three 1-hour sets each night and the battery lasted for 4 gigs. I have not tried rechargeables yet. With 300 channels to choose from, I should have no problems using this unit at Cowboys Stadium or other places with lots of DTV broadcast in use. The unit comes with everything to rack mount the receiver, which is very cool. None of my previous wireless units ever had that. The range is great, you can get all the way from the stage to the bar!

Cons - setting a new frequency was a little tricky, at least for me. When the receiver claims a new channel, it tells the transmitter using IR. The transmitter must be turned on at the right time to pick up the new channel info. It was tricky, I had to read and re-read the directions to get it right. With a little practice, I'm good at it and it works easily.
I was hoping that this unit would not receive the random "hiss" blasts that my previous units did when the transmitter is off, but I guess that's just a wireless thing that happens when other loud things are broadcasting nearby (Airports, TV Stations, etc.). Sometimes it happens, other times it doesn't. It isn't any worse than my previous units, just not any better.

Overall, this is the smartest wireless solution I have seen for guitar and it will be in my rig for a very long time. close [-]
