I bought one and will buy a second one but one has worked just fine to date. I use Peavey SP5's (passive) with a seperate amplifier along with the Mackie SWA1801z and immediately the heat was off of my SP5's!

This sub gives a ton of low end so the audience gets the feel of volume but without the blood dripping from their ears from loud mains. This allows you to back way off the mains and save your precious satellite speakers from distruction.

I am loving this sub big time. My SP5's also "appreciate" not having to run so loud to get enough nutz for the show.

Like I said, another one is in my near future so I can buy a couple of satellite speaker mounting poles and do away with my speaker stands. This subwoofer is tops in my book buy one or two, you wont be disappointed.

The SWA180 is indeed a powerhouse for regular gigs. I think it sounds better when mated with a regular (non-amplified) speaker. Any feedbacks?

These sub's sound great as long as you got some great mid rang speakers to help to fill in the gaps, because these sub are pretty powerfull beasts.
