svt 450h

I ordered this with a 410hlf cab. The head was defective. When I hooked it to the cab and turned it on I only got static and a loud pop when I engaged the eq. To rule out faulty speaker cables I tried the 1/4'' and speakon connections...same problem both ways. The shipping box was undamaged, did not show signs of rough handling, and the head was well-packed so it must have been defective prior to leaving the factory. So much for quality control. It all worked out because the whole rig (head and cab) was bigger and heavier than I expected. I returned both in exchange for a Mesa M6 Carbine combo (see my review there). The folks at Sweetwater gave me excellent support throughout the entire exchange process--well beyond what would normally be expected!
