Customer Reviewsfrom Dallas, Tx. May 27, 2012Music Background: Hobbist 1st impressions of the Sv-1Just received my Sv -1 a few days ago...so I hope my thoughts will be helpful...Yes... The reverse key is as beautiful in person as the pictures look! When I got it out of the box I was scared at first...5 of the keys were frozen...would not depress. After researching the Korg Sv-1 forums I discovered that this is a common occurance due to shipping. The solution is to turn the keyboard over(gasp...) and "vigorously" shake the instrument until the keys become free!!! I am sure that Korg would not endorse this practice...but it works well. The keybeds "feel" is how I had hoped...reminds me of the upright I used growing up. The sounds are useable out of the box...but the free sound pacs are reported to be better as well as the tweaking with the library/editor, which I haven't used yet... I hooked the Sv-1 up to a QSC K-8 powered speaker as well as a Peavey Studio Pro 112 guitar amp to get the stereo effect and the sound was crystal clear with the QSC, with a noticeable "hiss" with the Peavy. All in all I think that the Sv-1 is a true musical instrument and is well built!!!
