worth every dollar
by A cassett from Ocean City, NJ, August 2007
Music Background: pro-musician
I have owned and sold many guitars over the last 30 years, but this is one I will keep around. It Plays and sounds as well or better than many taylors martin's, ect.. that are in the 3,000.00 retail range. No drop off in high end, mids, or lows; very even sounding and a great projection for a non-jumbo.Beautiful rosewwod too.
Wonderful Guitar regardless of cost

I've been playing for over 40 years and had almost every major brand of acoustic guitar, but have been disappointed in almost every one for some (tone, action, size, dynamic range, build quality, looks, cost, etc). Once I found the "right" one of these for me (this guitar used to be called the Songbird Deluxe), my search ended. This axe has great tone (plugged in or not), good action, is beautifully designed, built & finished and is very loud when played without an amp. I've had mine for three years now; I'll never give it up.
Versatile and inspirational

I tried a lot of acoustics before this one fell into my hands. I like it better than models I played at triple the price. Electric players will find the low action on the comfortable neck creates an easy transition.
I've found most acoustics are better suited for either plectrum or fingerstyle, but this one seems to walk the fine line between both, offering a surprisingly warm and loud tone for a guitar of it's size.
You can't adjust any EQ on the pickup, which is a serious drawback, but it is voiced rather nicely.
All in all, a beyond amazing guitar for the price. I look forward to hearing it "open up" in the next few years as the wood ages. It'll get even better, if that's possible.
Awesome

I've played a lot of acoustics - my HD28VS sounded better from day one but it's too delicate to be a take outside, gig and beat around kind of guitar. This is a great sounding guitar that's a pretty solid hunk of wood - not just a difficult design feat, but a promise of even better (!!!) sound to come through the years and a sure sign of a no nonsense, tough instrument. Gibson knocked it out of the park on this one.
Really nice
by Guy Esberg from San Francisco, CA, January 2004
This is a really nice guitar -- big, loud & full sound with solid lows and bright highs, nice action & very well made. Sounds excellent when plugged-in, too. I've had mine about a year and it's now starting to sound better all the time.
