This is my first bass and I really like it a lot. The active equalizer works great, and the slim neck makes it easy to play. The SR400 is very light with no neck dive - very well-balanced. Love the fi... read more [+]nish, too. The photos in the guitar gallery were the only ones that accurately portrayed the guitar's finish on any Web site I visited, including the Ibanez site. Action could use a little tweaking, and the instrument was fairly out of tune after shipping, but it was pretty much ready to play out of the box. Sweetwater has this bass for $50 less than everybody else. Sweetwater's customer service is pretty impressive, too. close [-]

I have gotten more comments with this bass then I have ever had... read more [+]. It is very playable I find that it fits in my hand very nice and is easy to get around. Sweetwater set the action just right. The tune is great. The sweep knob is very cool. With the turn of just one knob you can change the tone dramatically. Tweak the EQ a bit and this bass will work for any style. It has been a blast to play. I was not happy with the Elixir strings that came on it. It was a texture thing. They did not feel right but sounded good. All in All this is a great bass. Sounds great, can play any style, and very eye popping on stage. close [-] Good value
