Incredibly Accurate Mic in the Studio and onstage!

When you demand uncompromising microphone performance, you need an Earthworks mic. You'll love what the Earthworks SR40 high-definition cardioid mic does for your recordings and live performances. You'll also appreciate how well the SR40's true cardioid pickup pattern rejects outside sources, and how it gives you impressive gain before feedback. Imagine — an incredibly accurate mic that's amazing in the studio and onstage. That's what you get, with the SR40!

One Amazing Mic-no other mic on the market does what this one does.

I have to say that I have used just about every mic out there for live sound from Neumann to Sennheiser to DPA. This mic is simply the most versatile and stunning sounding I've ever used. You can ge... read more [+]t incredible gain and the pattern is so exact it will pick up off axis sound just as clear as on-axis. Crystal clear pin-drop nuances with an omni like pick-up almost 3D sounding, no joke. I have tried this baby on every just about instrument from trumpet, sax, flute, and acoustic guitar (scary good) as well as voice which by the way is amazing (selling my KMS105 to buy another SR40). This is the first mic I've used on my Presonus Studio Live mixer that I do not have to add any EQ. I mean none..completely flat! Add just a touch of compression and I'm in heaven. What goes in comes out untouched without coloration. It can handle extreme soft instruments as well as the screamers like a Fadis Schilke trumpet. If you can fit the bill get one of these. It is actually not as expensive as the DPA line. I was able to do away with two mics and use one of these instead since the pickup is so incredible (recently recorded a broadway singer and an acoustic guitarist with just one SR40) This thing picks up details that no other mic does. By the way you can record a whole drum kit with just one mic!! Breathtaking results. close [-]
