The bridge isolates the strings to minimize cross-string noise while maximizing sustain. The weight is well-balanced so your hands are free to just play. This was my first experience with Sweetwater and I was impressed with their personal level of service. There were pictures of this bass in their gallery so I was able to see the grain and finish before ordering.
