A Good, Solid Product

The Samson S-phantom is an essential piece of equipment to have if your recording or live setup doesn't involve a big board. I haven't had it long, but it has worked beautifully in the times that I have used it. I would add that Sweetwater's service in getting it to me was exceptional. I highly recommend the product and Sweetwater, as well.

Be careful with this one

This unit doesn't have DC blocking capacitors, so don't use it with any hight end preamps, such as the AEA TRP. It can cause damage! Yes, there is a diagram on the box, but not everyone is that astute. The manufacturer should make this clearer. I gave it 3 stars as it has it's place in the right context, but IMHO there are better choices around this price point. I sent mine back and and got one from ART.
