From Our Research Team:Intuitive, Powerful, and Flexible PC DAW!NOTE: This is a special offer for owners of Guitar Tracks Pro, Home Studio, Project 5, Kinetic, Music Creator, or SONAR 6 Lite Edition products to upgrade to SONAR X1 Producer at a reduced price.Cakewalk SONAR X1 Studio DAW gives you a whole new way to produce, record, and create original music. Far more than a mere upgrade from version 8.x, Cakewalk SONAR X1 is a complete redesign of the entire SONAR environment, designed to speed up your workflow and keep you locked in your creative zone. With SONAR X1 Studio, you have everything you need to go from a clean slate to broadcast-ready music and cinematic soundscapes. The overarching concept behind the SONAR X1 environment is the new Skylight user interface environment. Skylight combines the flexibility responsible for making SONAR one of the most popular DAWs with a MultiDock toolbar that keeps all of SONAR X1's modules right at your fingertips. Instantly call up the track view for recording or the MIDI editor for sequencing, then switch to the Matrix and lay down a pattern - all without surfing through complicated menus. There's no complicated setup to deal with, clunky user interface to master, or anything else to get between you and your music. Screensets let you instantly jump from one purpose-ready layout to another. Track in one layout, switch Screensets to lay down a MIDI-based synth part, and then switch Screensets again to go back for overdubs. It's that easy. SONAR X1's new smart tools also ensure that your creative flow is never broken, allowing you to edit both audio and MIDI with a single tool. The Inspector module gives you complete drag-and-drop simplicity, allowing you to easily add drum patterns, instrument riffs, virtual instruments, FX chains, multitrack templates, and more to your session - all from a single consolidated browser window. Cakewalk SONAR X1 Studio also comes with the complete lineup of essential tools. AudioSnap 2.0 lets you quickly and easily correct the timing of your audio tracks, and Roland's V-Vocal pitch correction engine gives you everything from subtle pitch correction to extreme hard-tuning effects. A collection of 13 amazing T and S Series effects give you advanced mixing options above and beyond SONAR X1's core suite of 31 standard professional-level plug-ins. You also get 10 go-to virtual instruments, as well as four fantastic synths from RGC. When it comes to laying down tracks, SONAR X1's non-linear Matrix view lets you seamlessly incorporate MIDI and audio loops into your projects, and Step Sequencer 2.0 makes laying down beats and synth lines a blast. It does all that is advertised. I imported my songs from the BR1600CD DAW. Even though my DAW had editing features, those in Studio were easier to locate and use. The NEW Skylight interface is awesome... read more [+]. It does take some time to learn (i'm a first time user of Sonar). I found that some of the editing features that I was looking for in the Essential version like V-Vocal was actually in Studio, so I upgraded. If I had it to do over I would have purchased Producer from the start. I would sugguest the tial version first (if you are a first time user) to learn what features Sonar offers.
