High-performance design puts you in touch with your music One of Jackson's mottos is "Choose wisely. Play better." That's not just hype either. The fact is, a well made guitar, like a Soloist SLXQ, gives you a closer connection to your music. For instance, the Soloist SLXQ features a compound radius fretboard, which is more rounded at the nut and flatter higher up the neck. This makes it easy to fret chords near the nut, while opening up the fretboard for soloing. The flatter higher frets also let you keep your action low, without bottoming out when you bend notes. And thanks to its neck-through-body design, the Soloist SLXQ also gives you epic sustain. Genuine Floyd Rose Special tailpiece In typical Jackson fashion, this incredible guitar was built with nothing but quality hardware onboard. That's why they gave the Soloist SLXQ guitar a real 2-point, double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo tailpiece. The light-weight Floyd Rose Special tremolo tailpiece gives you the real feel of an original Floyd Rose, adding to the Soloist SLXQ's amazingly responsive feel. An excellent set of EMG pickups Great feel is only part of the equation. Jackson knows this better than just about any guitar maker. That's why they've equipped the Soloist SLXQ with a set of extra-hot EMG humbucking pickups. An EMG H4-AN pickup at the neck and a H4-B at the bridge give you well-balanced tone with tight bass, glassy mids and crunching highs. Jackson Soloist SLXQ Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

Never owned a Jackson and this is my first! In my opinion it’s the Ferrari of electric guitars. It’s got a compound radius neck for killer fast attack and playing. I personally don’t like popping batteries into a guitar to get a sound, and I doubt I ever will, but to me - these EMGs sound great. Comes with a Floyd Rose, not the blue blood one, but a fully functional, and it does stay in tune! I've wanged it pretty good and it’s solid. I also had Sweetwater install some Dunlop strap locks for me and their cool too! And, I bought a Gator Strat style case for this axe and it fits great!March 20, 2012 Music Background: pro musician Finish is really nice, like the rosewood fret board with shark fin inlays. And the master tone and volume are silky smooth and very responsive. Overall, I’ve very pleased with this Jackson guitar, so much so I’m ordering the natural finish one. Its light weight, well balanced, and for the price it’s my opinion nothing comes close for what Jackson is putting into this excellent axe. The new X Series for 2012 a fabulous axe, value, and all around high performing axe. close [-] Awesome for the money!

I agree with the reviewer below. It feels great out of the box but the EMGs have to go. I put a Dimarzio H2N (their highest output pickup) in the bridge position and a Chopper in the neck.
