Jackson Soloist SLATXMG3-7 (Quicksilver)Jackson nailed it! An avid fan of Jackson guitars for years. Own several USA Custom Shop models, MIJ models, have tried the X Series models and now purchased one of the first SLAT 7's received at Sweetwater. The fit and finish are excellent. The neck profile is pure Jackson through and through.
What you get in comparison to the two main other brands who have the 7 string market cornered will be a wake up call. Arch top, dual action truss rods, neck thru with graphite reinforcements, compound radius, strap-locks, Floyd Rose, EMG's (love them or hate them it's still better than the garbage pups thrown in as stock in one of the competitor brands and easy to change) at a price that's missing in a mid level product. I've owned 7 strings guitars from the two other brands and sold off all of them. Guitars much like tone, are subjective and merely my take on Jackson's new models. Biased? Of course!
These are made in Indonesia and of no issue or concern for me. The quality is excellent. The guitar comes neatly packed in a small footprint box. Out of the box the guitar is light, contoured, comfortable to play, no fret buzz, Floyd set up and works fine right out of the box. Would highly recommend.
A job well done Jackson, well done!
