Great Shockmount without the Shocking Price Tag!!

I needed a pair of shockmounts for my AKG C414's that I use as drum overheads, but had a budget I wanted to stay within. These were just what I needed. The outer ring and threaded portion are metal and the center piece that the mic slips into is a sturdy plastic. The AKG 414 fits snugly into the mount and I was not at all afraid of it slipping out while they are perched above my drums. The threaded connector is metal - unlike the AKG H100 which is plastic - and it comes with the euro-style adapter as well as a couple extra elastic bands. I'm still amazed at what a great deal these are! Thanks Sweetwater!

For the price, can't complain!

I'll mention this first, if you have clamping style shockmount and you broke the outer ring from it falling on the ground or what not, this may make an excellent replacement. I bought a used telefunken ak47 and all it had was the clamp. When I got the SP shockmount I took off the plastic piece that holds the mic, and replaced it with the clamp for the ak47 and it works perfectly. I bought a second one for the c414 so far the only complaint i have is that it is hard to disconnect the cable because the cable actually goes up in the part that holds the microphone. it's not impossible, you just gotta turn the mic to where you can push the button and I used an 1/8" jack to push the button in. It seems to hold the microphone pretty well, though it will slide out if you shake it enough. though i imagine it would take a really long time for it to slide out from sound vibrations if you kept it upside down, if at all.

Economical solution

IT does what it is supposed to do. I needed a shock mount for an AKG c3000b I had. A new OEM mount it would have been great, but at a list price of over $100. This one, while not as elaborate, seems to work well. The suspension seems tight and the clamping mechanism is force fit, but these issues wouldn't stop me from buying another if I needed it.
It's works for me
