The Legendary Gibson Super Jumbo! The Gibson J-200 Studio is a fine acoustic-electric guitar, retaining the tradition and excellence of Gibson's storied Super Jumbo "King of the Flat Tops" line. The J-200 Studio's simple elegance begins with its classic AA-grade Sitka spruce top and attractive maple back and sides, giving you a full and balanced high end with the Super Jumbo's signature grand projection. And, for smooth and comfortable playability, the J-200 Studio features a rosewood fingerboard with a slightly beveled rolled edge. Complementing the fingerboard, Gibson's Graduated Crown Inlays adorn the J-200 Studio.Gibson J-200 Studio Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
The "King of the Flat Tops" Features Premier Tonewoods Primed for the studio, the Gibson J-200 Studio sports incredible-sounding tonewoods combined with Gibson's classic strong-voiced Super Jumbo body style. Onboard, you'll find a AA-grade Sitka spruce top for projection, which is complemented perfectly by the J-200's classic maple back and sides. Other touches include hand-scalloped, radiused top bracing, and a tapered dovetail neck joint. Rosewood Fingerboard with Rolled Edges and Graduated Crown Inlays The Gibson J-200 Studio's fingerboard comprises high-grade rosewood, which is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled experts before it enters the Gibson factories. This durable wood's resilience makes the fingerboard extremely balanced and stable, and gives each chord and note exceptional clarity and bite. What's more, the J-200 Studio's graduated crown inlays are made of genuine mother of pearl, and are inserted into the fingerboard using a special process that eliminates gaps and doesn't require fillers. The fingerboard also sports a rolled edge-instead of the usual right angle, and is slightly beveled for an extremely smooth and comfortable feel, enhancing the J-200 Studio's playability. Fishman Aura Pro Acoustic Pickup System The J-200 Studio comes with Fishman's first-class Aura Pro pickup system, which uses Aura Acoustic Imaging Technology to bring you an incredibly natural sound onstage - as if you were miked in a professional studio. The Aura Pro system uses digital algorithms to create images of various microphones' captured sounds - and you can blend the images with the actual guitar pickup, to dramatically improve your amplified sound. The pickup system also features a tuner, and it's mounted discreetly on the bass side rim of the upper bout. The Gibson Super Jumbo Gibson's Super Jumbo guitars were originally built to cut through the loudest acoustic ensembles, allowing them to compete with the mandolins and banjos that were prevalent in "pre-amplified" times. It's still a thrill to hear the well-balanced sound of a Super Jumbo ring out loud and clear, the maple sides and spruce top pumping out a throaty tone that's equally great for high-octane strumming and delicate fingerpicking. Everyone from arena rockers to country artists to blues greats choose these guitars for their incredible sound, projection, build quality, and, let's face it, stunning looks. Classic Gibson Craftsmanship Gibson's reputation as a fine guitar builder dates back to the late 1800s. Handcrafted since day one by some of the most skilled luthiers around, Gibson acoustic guitars have inspired countless players around the world. When you pick up a Gibson acoustic, you know you're getting the finest tonewoods, quality hardware, and incredible attention to detail - these instruments are built to sound great and stand the test of time. After moving from Kalamazoo, MI, to Nashville, TN (where Gibson electric guitars continue to be made), Gibson finally settled their acoustic operation in Bozeman, MT, where they continue making some of the finest guitars on the planet by hand. Gibson J-200 Studio Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
The Gibson J-200 Studio delivers the classic look and sound of the Gibson Super Jumbos, in a guitar that's primed for the studio!
