The Gibson SJ-200 Modern Classic gives you the best of both worlds: time-tested, handcrafted construction from Gibson's finest, and a pickup-equipped design that's ideal for today's performer. The SJ-200 Modern Classic features a Super Jumbo body style, modeled on the classic early-'50s maple-bodied model, with a premium solid Sitka spruce top, AAA flame maple back and sides, and a maple neck. You get incredible tone and astounding projection from this guitar! With these features in mind, Gibson redesigned the entire Modern Classic line to give us premium, handcrafted guitars that play easier, intonate better, sound great plugged in, and stay in tune even better than before. These guitars feature the latest design advancements, including radiused, or rolled fingerboard edges, giving you a fast, comfortable feel. And, with string height lower at the nut, these guitars will also play even easier and intonate better all the way up the neck. Final Gibson touches, including new soundhole labels, sturdy Grover tuners, and premium Fishman pickups, make it easy for you to take your favorite traditional-style Gibson acoustic onto the modern stage with confidence! Quality construction All Modern Classic guitars are handcrafted by Gibson in Bozeman, MT, from premium tonewoods and components. The SJ-200 EC's Eastern curly maple neck sports a Madagascar rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl crown inlays and has a super-jumbo 25-1/2" scale. The stunning tortoise pickguard features a cream flower pattern, border, and yellow/orange dots. The crown-inlaid headstock holds gold Grover tuners with pearloid keystone buttons. Even the bridge is special, employing a "mustache" design with mother-of-pearl bars and dots and white pins. A premium Fishman pickup rounds out this impressive instrument. Great unplugged or onstage The SJ-200 Modern Classic produces a well-balanced acoustic tone that practically leaps out of the guitar, and it's not afraid to push some serious air when strummed hard. The combination of its Super Jumbo body and comfortable cutaway allows for a full sound while giving you access to the upper frets. Plug this guitar in and you still get that pure, balanced tone, at any volume you want. It's an incredible all-around instrument! The Super Jumbo Gibson's Super Jumbo guitars were originally built to cut through the loudest acoustic ensembles, allowing them to compete with the mandolins and banjos that were prevalent in "pre-amplified" times.
