Classic hot-rodded humbucker sound The archetype hot-rodded humbucker for over 30 years, the JB Model SH-4 is great for everything from heavy blues to heavy metal. As the world's most popular humbucker, the SH-4 provides slammin' output while retaining singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion. It easily goes from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll. Compared to the SH-14 Custom 5, the JB has a stronger treble detail. Some players use it with 250K pots to smooth out the highs. The JB Model SH-4 comes with four-conductor hookup cable to facilitate complex pickup switching setups. Part of a complete Seymour Duncan pickup set The JB Model SH-4 is recommended for bridge position, and is often paired with a neck pickup like the SH-2n Jazz (Seymour's favorite) for versatility or a SH-1 '59 for P.A.F. tones. The SH-4 is for balanced and warm instruments, and works especially well with rosewood fingerboards. Had one installed in my Ibanez and it is great. Even the coil tap sounds good like a real single coil. The pickup is crunchy and cleans up during solos.

Chris McCownIs it any wonder why this is Seymour Duncan's best selling pickup, and has been for many years? This pickup has just the right amount of mids poking through the signal, nice highs without the "icepick in the ear" effect (with the right potentiometers), and nice tight bass. The JB is Duncan's best selling pickup because it sounds good whether you're doing hard rock, funk, chicken pickin', or blues! Also popular
