From Our Research Team:Seymour Duncan Pickups - It's all about tone! For cleaner, more articulate tones, the SH-2 Jazz Model is a perfect fit. When placed in the neck position of a guitar, you're treated to classic humbucker tones that reach far beyond the "Jazz" moniker implies, including country, blues, funk, and heavy rock. The SH-2 Jazz Model excels on fast runs up and down the neck, and it's natural tone allows it to easily match up to virtually any bridge pickup. With the sheer amount of tones available, guitarists of any ilk will find the SH-2 useful.Seymour Duncan SH-2 Jazz Model at a Glance:
Sound The SH-2 Jazz Model inherent sound makes it a great choice for fast runs. The brighter tone has slightly less output and is a good match with most bridge pickups. When distorted, the tone is full and bright with smooth sustain. Compared to the SH-1 '59 Model, the Jazz has slightly less output and a more detailed treble response. The SH-2 comes with four-conductor hookup cable to facilitate complex pickup switching configurations. Complete setup Often a SH-2 Jazz is placed at the neck, and is paired with an SH-4 JB (Seymour's favorite combination, and he knows a thing or two about pickups!) or SH-5 Duncan Custom in the bridge position for diverse tones. The SH-2 Jazz Model works well in balanced and warm instruments, and fares especially well with mahogany bodies and rosewood fingerboards. This versatile pickup also works great with hollow and semi-hollowbody guitars. Seymour Duncan SH-2 Jazz Model Features:

In every twin humbucker guitar I own, this is the pickup that sits in the neck position. After much thought and research I installed the SH-2(n)pickup at the neck of my new custom built guitar. This instrument has a mahogany neck and body, and walnut fingerboard. The circuit is similar to the Les Paul, but with the pickup / selector wires reversed to give fully independent control of each pickup. The resulting sound is stunningly good with full, darkish, pin sharp tone from the SH-2. The pickup has proved to be amazingly versatile: handles bluesy stuff and rock really well, but copes with just about eaverything else too. In my opinion this is a truly wonderful pickup and testifies to Seymour Duncan's design and manufacturing experience! close [-]
