Customer Reviewsfrom Shawnee, KS April 20, 2012Music Background: Hobbyist WOW...The guitar is beyond expectations. This is my first "real" electric as I have been playing acoustic/electrics for 15 years and decided to try out some new sounds. I was surprised at how well it fits my body, how light it is, and how fast the neck is. Playability is off the charts. Tone is great as well. I haven't had it set up yet so I'm using the strings that came with her and they aren't great but they aren't supposed to be either. Mark and the rest of the staff at SweetWater are second to none. I am manager at a big box retailer; I know outstanding customer service and they blow it out of the water! This was my first electric guitar and my first time dealing with SweetWater and I will never go back to anyone else for all future purchases (provided my wife gives me the ok).from New Jersey, USA September 26, 2011Music Background: Hobbyist/Collector Gibson SG StandardWas going to buy the other American made SG for $699. Spoke with Jim Watson and boy was I glad I did. Decided to udgrade. Fit and finish on the guitar are just perfect. Not sure whether Sweetwater made any adjustments or it was set up at the factory but it was spot on perfect. Came with 10's, and low action without any buzzing along the fret board. Guitar is incredibly light. Not fond of the strap pin located on the heel of the back of the guitar. Added a strap lock just to be safe. Well worth the money!!!from Dubai, United Arab Emirates June 8, 2010Music Background: Student Musician Pure Gibson Standard!Link Wray, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, well those names say it all, most versatile guitar made by Gibson and best selling too!For $1200 ,you can't get anything else better for that much! from Tokyo, Japan April 8, 2010Music Background: Musician/Student/Aspiring Producer Cop This!!!!Soooo, fortunately my parents are nice enough to fund the majority of my musical aspirations and I was lucky enough to receive this guitar in my post box yesterday. I'm more familiar with Strats and the Fender line-up and i've always been somewhat biased in opinion, but this thing has really changed my mind within 15 minutes of playing... It plays great, and looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL... I picked the darkest, and most aesthetically pleasing (wood grain-wise), and i'm very happy with my choice... I love my AS Strat...and I love my SG... If there happens to be anyone that was as confused as I was in terms of going Gibson or going Fender...lol GET BOTH if you can... In my opinion it's definitely WORTH IT!!!!from Crowely,Louisiana April 28, 2008Music Background: student/Muscian/recording Great but expinciveGreat guitar, the only problem is the price so i recomend the epiphone verssion an also the peavy signiture.from Versailles, MO USA March 30, 2007Music Background: Musician NiceBought this guitar about 2 months ago, took it out gave it a look and everything was spot on perfect. I sent it to my guitar luthier in St. Louis to have some mods done, just how I am, like to be different. Put in 2 57 classic humbuckers, neck and middle postions and an Angus Young sig, in the bridge postion along with a cream pearl pickguard. WOW!!!!from Arcade, NY March 14, 2007Music Background: Session Musician, Hobbyist, Live Musician A Cadillac Of The Gibson LineI bought this model from a local dealer in 1998 and it has been all over the place live & recorded a million times. First and foremost, this guitar is absolutely NOISELESS. Even 9 years later, there is no hum or crackle, making recording a dream. It also has a nice warm creamy sound when overdriven through a Marshall, Fender Twin with a Big Muff. I don't think it would matter what you hooked this baby into, it'll always sound great. By the way, this guitar just SCREEAAMMSS with a wah pedal. As far as playabilty goes, it plays like BUTTAH. The neck is very fast, the frets are nice & fat, which makes bending notes so durn easy. The neck also has the perfect radius for my hand, making it oh so cozy. You'll go chop crazy with this model. I think this axe is a must have if you cant afford a '59 Les Paul (not many can). So absolutely go for it! It'll always be my main axe (until I get a '59 Les Paul)!!

January 1, 2004 THIS GUITAR IS BAD!I have played many SGs and Les Pauls, this one by far outshines all the rest. I mostly play PRS, they are wonderful guitars, this guitar ranks up there with them. Its tone is very meaty, great for rock and Marshall distortion. I play it through a Marshall DSL 100 full stack and I can replicated Angus Young of AC/DC with ease. Great guitar, totally worth the money.-Peace
