Robust Sonic Sculpting and EQ Matching

Nugen Audio's SEQ-S is a linear-phase spline-match EQ plug-in that delivers robust sonic sculpting and EQ matching in up to 7.1 surround, plus stereo mid-side operation and automated spectrum analysis. Shape and correct your audio with ultra-high resolution not possible with traditional parametric methods. With its direct-draw interface and detailed spectrum analysis, SEQ-S makes it quick and easy to identify problems and fine tune any audio signal. Add in sonic-fingerprinting EQ matching, and Nugen Audio SEQ-S gives you a world of unique sound-sculpting possibilities.

Nugen Audio SEQ-S at a Glance:
  • Great for audio matching
  • Create your ideal space
  • High-def control over low frequencies
Great for audio matching

At Sweetwater, we know there are times when you need to match the sound of one audio source to another, and this is an area in which Nugen Audio SEQ-S shines. You can, of course, use the plug-in for traditional equalization, but beyond that, you can also use it to capture the flavor of an existing piece of audio and transfer it to another in your current project. This feature is perfect for restoration work and harmonization. You can even use the same technique on individual tracks to sonically "pull together" different takes, mic positions, and more.

Create space

Nugen Audio equipped SEQ-S with an EQ Invert control, giving you a minimally invasive method for creating space in a complex mix where traditional equalization would be unwieldy. Simply "sample" a lead vocal, for instance, and apply the inverted curve to the backing track, and you can create space, gently, without heavy-handed EQ that would alter the tonality of the original underlying audio.

High-def control over low frequencies

Unlike many linear-phase equalizers, Nugen Audio SEQ-S sports a scalable Quality setting that gives it ultra-high precision in the low frequencies. This unique feature lets you make transparent-sounding tweaks without muddying up your mix. Choose your level of precision required for demanding mastering applications, or vary the setting as you concurrently run multiple instances during a mixdown.

Nugen Audio SEQ-S Features:
  • Linear Phase technology:
    • Transparent sound without phase smearing
    • Sharper transients
    • No phase warping
  • High-specification match EQ:
    • Match different takes and environments
    • Mono, stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 operation
    • Clone source EQ to target mix
  • Create specific EQ spaces:
    • Invert facility to sculpt specific space
    • Mid-Side options available
    • Individual surround channel access
  • Precise and scalable:
    • Easily generate complex curves
    • Curve scale and smoothing
    • Intuitive zoomable interface
You've never used an EQ like Nugen Audio's SEQ-S!

Surgical

I've always been attracted to graphic eqs because of the simplicity they have, in approach, to bending curves. Parametrics are precise, in narrowing in, on a certain frequency, that you might want to boos,t or cut but, when it comes to creating curves, for tone and character, graphic eq, are more precise, because they have more control points, thus more control over the curve, as whole. Plus they are so much faster you can try several different curves, very fast, which means you get to the end destination faster. You draw the literal curve versus separate controls to tweak it out. Work your way from left to right, testing each band for desired level. So, I got to thinking, if they just had way more control points, on a graphic equalizer, wouldn't that be awesome? Precision and control.... Enter Spline EQ, the best of both worlds. I don't use any other eq. literally. Theres so much control, and its so easy. It showed me that the eq was the most important tool I have. The only thing I'd add, is minimum phase mode. I'm never thinking about filter types, I just draw, and listen. The zoom features are great and makes this tool golden for mastering.
