I have been trying many types of strings in various gauges in over 40 years of playing and struggled to get the tone and ASDR (Attack Sustain Decay Release) that was stuck in my mind from my first play of a Les Paul in 1968. That Les Paul was a 1959 Standard and it sounded so sweet and rich and 'crunchy' and yet had all the smoothness of a Rolls Royce on new tar when put through a 1958 Vox AC30. I Now have the Don Felder 1959 Les Paul, The Reissue Vox AC30HW and the strings to match and all the sounds i ever wanted are right here.
