Incredible
by Nate from Scenery Hill, PA USA, April 2008

This guitar is an all around incredible package. If your looking for incredible value and outstanding performance, this is the guitar for you. I play mainly heavy metal, and though it may seem this is not a metal guitar, it rocks and plays very well. Spend the extra money and get something worth it.
PRS SE Custom

I've played for 40 odd years now and have always erred in favour of Fender, with 2 strats and a tele in my arsenal. But I wanted something with humbuckers on it. I tried out a Les Paul but it was a dog, altogether too clunky in sound and weighed a ton. the man in the shop said "here, try this". The sound was very powerful on full volume, bags of sustain. But what I liked was the way it cleaned up when I rolled the volume back. The sound took on a Fender-like transparency. Clean enough to sound like Hank. Try that on a Gibson and all you get is mud. you lose all your top. Action is nice, stays in tune. Looks very nice too. I have the cherry sunburst and it was money well spent. Get one.
this is the best,,and price too...

I have been looking at this guitar for about a month and have played it several times in the shop... im still in school so only have a part time job so its gonna be a few months before i can afford this... but every time i play it, it outperforms itself i love the flexibility if this guitar it can make just about any type of music sound great... i have looked at more expensive guitars as well as others in this price bracket and i still want this one... the quality is outstanding...
PRS SE CUSTOM CHERRY FINISH, W/STOPTAIL

I PURHASED THIS GUITAR BASED ON REVIEWS I'VE READ ON THE INTERNET. I WAS VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN I REC'D THIS IN THE MAIL FROM SWEETWATER. THE GUITAR FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GUITAR. I ALSO HAVE A FENDER STRAT WHICH NICELY COMPLIMENTS THIS GUITAR. I PLAN ON HOLDING BOTH FOR A VERY LONG TIME. THE ONLY SLIGHT COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE IS THAT I'M FINDING THE GUITAR GOES OUT OF TUNE QUITE A BIT, & I'M NOT REALLY BENDING THE STRINGS ALL THAT MUCH.
OTHERWISE, AN EXCELLENT CHOICE.
Top of the line quality in affordable range.

Keep in mind, I've spent the past 20 years a stubborn Fender Strat advocate...for me, there was no other guitar worthy of purchase: This is the best value I've found in a guitar in the 20+ years of playing. Now, forget the 'value' and 'affordability' for a minute...this guitar 'plays' incredibly. The wide fat neck ensures effortless chord execution, super fast and smooth neck and perfect action balance...just enough string tension to bend to the moon, yet low enough to shred up and down the neck effortlessly. The 'stock' pickups sound like custom upgrades, delivering a nice clean tone to a fat, sustained 'in your face' distorted attack. The hardware is even impressive...tight, smooth and 'balls on' accurate machine heads, nice tremolo, sturdy volume/tone knobs. Aesthetically, the guitar is just awesome...well designed, perfectly balanced between contemporary and cool, yet beautiful. Back to the 'value'...all this for less than $800! If you can't afford to drop a few grand on your 'dream' guitar...DON'T. Try this one! 'You can't always get what you want, but you'll get what you need'. The PRS company have raised the bar to a new level in all the industry in terms of quality in the 'affordable' guitar line...so high, in fact, I doubt the competitors will be able to even remotely meet the challenge. VERY nice...wow!
PRS Custom SE Review
by joe from pennsylvania, January 2006
I have been playing guitar since 1991. My first electric was a Real Gibson LP followed by a 1993 Fender Strat. I play basically rock and blues. I recently started looking for a new guitar since I wasn't happy with the strat anymore, noisy pickups and the neck just never suited me. I basically struggled to play clean. I noticed some Korean made PRS guitars in a local music store and I never forgot how well the LP played. I was looking at an EC Strat and didn't even bother to pick one up...but they stuck in my mind. I always liked them and I really didn't want to spend $2000 on a LP or a PRS. I ended up doing some research on the Korean PRS and was surprised at the great reviews. I really liked the look of the Custom SE and for the $$$ how could you go wrong. To make a long story short, I bought one at Sweetwater. I got it today and tonight I am writing to tell people it is simply an awesome guitar and yes, all the reviews are accurate. There was NO ADJUSTMENT PERIOD! I plugged it in and it just felt like a dream from the minute I started playing. The action was perfect, the neck was perfect, the sound was perfect and the guitar overall is perfect. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT THE OTHER PRS GUITARS ARE LIKE!
OVERALL: A+ Just as good as a LP! Honestly.
FINISH: A+ Beautiful back! Nice top for veneer!
TUNERS: Like Butter!
TUNING: STAYS IN TUNE!
FRETS: PERFECT
ROSEWOOD FRET BOARD: NICE QUALITY.
BODY: FLAT. DON'T REALLY NOTICE. PREFER SOME SHAPE.
PICKUPS: POWERFUL but WARM (CLEAN AND DISTORTED)
You can go from a Jimmy Page sound to Santana to BB and just about anything else.
TREMELO: DON'T USE ONE. BUT PREFER STYLE
AMP: ROLAND CUBE 60 (PERFECTION IN MODELING!)
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS GUITAR TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR THE BEST GUITAR FOR THE $. NOTHING WILL COMPARE IN THIS PRICE RANGE. ABSOLUTLY NOTHING.
I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHY YOU WOULD NEED ANYTHING ELSE?
SWEETWATER: A+, I ACTUALLY GOT A CALL TO TELL ME MY GUITAR SHIPPED. FED EX DELIVERY!
