Toontrack SDX Roots - Sticks was recorded in the world-famous Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. A recording destination for the who's who of the music industry, Blackbird Studios is known for its massive microphone collection, around 1400 mics, and selection of the best recording gear through out the ages.

World-class mic selection
The mic set up used to record Toontrack SDX Roots - Sticks is amazing, thanks to the massive collection at Blackbird Studios. Multiples of mics were used on every drum, 16 mono channels were used, as well as 7 stereo channels. The mics used ranged from Shure SM57s, to the vintage AKG 19, and a pair of Telefunken 251s. The speaker from a Yamaha NS-10 studio monitor was even used, it was flipped out of phase to produce enhanced lower frequencies of kick drums. Very cool. You'll love the flexibility and choices available to mix and match not only drums, but mics in the SDX Roots - Sticks expansion pack.

The SX Roots - Sticks expansion pack features kits recorded with five kick drums, eight snares and a large selection of cymbals sampled in extreme detail to work with the most advanced drum sampler engine on the planet, Superior Drummer 2.0.
