Customer Reviewsfrom Kissimmee, Florida October 14, 2011 Music Background: Recording and live engineer The best "group vocal" micI have used this microphone for recording and live shows. It is very warm.I have recorded everything from acoustic bass to vocals. For Bluegrass groups that gather around a single microphone, this is the best. There is no proximity effect. voices off to the sides are still warm and heard just fine. from Seattle, WA September 9, 2006 Music Background: pianist, engineer the "end-all" for recording pianoplace one right over the high strings, face down, about and inch above the strings, six inches from the hammers...the same for bass,a little further from the hammers... and listen. This technique sounds rediculously unconventional but the sound is big, balanced, open-aired, and detailed. Can't be matched my Neumanns or Earthworks, or anything else I've heard. Try 'em, that's all I can say!from All over March 16, 2007 Music Background: musician, remote recording engineer, producer smart buyWhat a great little mic for the money! I've been using it for about three months now on banjo, guitar, guitar amps, piano (for the lows, w/ a Royer 121 on the highs), back-up vocals, cello, fiddle, snare... really a good all-purpose utility mic that can be positioned almost anywhere due to it's tiny footprint and in-built shock-mount.And did I mentioned they're built like tanks? If a drummer has ever made one of your 414s explode, you'll know how nice it is to have a capsule casing tough enough to survive an errant drumstick. Nice work, Audix! I'll definitely be buying a second pair soon. |
