Great for IEM's

Crown has outdone themselves with the SASS MkII. This microphone is absolutley beautiful. Low self noise, excellent polar pattern, outstanding frequncy response, and highly accurate imaging make this microphone a must have for all audio engineers. Not only is this a great mic for recording and sampling, but it is also great for live work. I have used this mic for audience response pickup for in ears with outstanding results. It also works great in stereo overhead drum micing and for grand pianos. Everyone should have two or three SASS MkII's.

SASS - P MKII

I used this mike on an outside audience for a live show to tape. It was ultra reliable and was easy to use. With headphones on I sometimes would look around me just to see what the other guy next to me was doing....only I was all alone.

I felt like I was right in the crowd. I could even hear individual conversations.

This mic is one of the best kept secrets in the industry. Jaw dropping!

Super Ears

I have owned one of these since It was first introduced in 1991...I have used it in a variety of applications such as recording sound FX (ie. lions tigers and many other natural environments) for films such as Hi Lo country to Imax ambiences...I have used it for recording live orchestra and jazz...acoustic stereo guitar and choral voices...the Imaging is superlative, including a 360 degree panorama with a built in acoustical shadow or db drop representing the front of the head and the ears, L&R...It has a table flat frequency response and is very acurate...I cannot say enough about this mic...neither could the engineers that built it...aparently the technical paper presetnted on it at AES was about an inch and a half thick...Get one and use it on everything...

Crown SASS

A wonderful mic for live stereo recording. Excellent stereo image, with headphones you can close your eyes and point almost exactly where sounds are coming from. Has excellent full range response and sums to mono well. Everyone I have recorded with this mic has loved the results.
