Music Background: Recording Engineer, Music Nut
After looking for over 12 years to find the best studio monitor the s3a ended the search. If you want the most realistic honest detailed sound these are for you. They are worth 10 times what they are selling for. Simply you will be blown away the first time you hear them...Incredible.. I LOVE them! You can not improve on perfection!
Thank you to the people at ADAM for a miracle in sound reproduction!
Best Of The Best!

Music Background: Musician, Composer, Hobbyist, Amateur Recording Engineer.
I auditioned various monitors for critical playback, recording, editing, and presentation in a 14x23ft room. I compose, play, and record acoustic and synthesized music - piano, winds, and stringed instruments along with various software generated synthesized and modelled sounds. In an A/B testing situation, and from a pool of Genelec, KRK, Dynaudio, Alesis, M-Audio, Yamaha, the Adam S3A was the only one with the proverbial WOW factor!
Dynaudio 5MA and 6MA was a distant second having nice reverb tail, but at times it can wash out detail. But in terms of presenting a sound with utmost timbral accuracy, clarity, open soundstage, and transparency the Adam S3A has no match. Close your eyes and it has that 3D quality with just the right balance of directness and spaciality. However, it doesn't add anything that's not there, and it does justice to what's already on the recording. The only minor quibble I have is that there is a little "tubbyness" around 100-140Hz, which may very well be from my room acoustics, but that's for another day to analyze on an RTA and treat with LENRD traps... That's next.
If it's too expensive, a fair compromise is the Dynaudio 5MA or 6MA. But in the long run it'll pay for itself in the amount of time you will have saved in the editing stage by not second guessing on the actual sound that you have on your recording. You'll find yourself listening to recordings all over again and hearing inner sounds that you never heard before. before.Honestly, you won't suffer from cognitive dissonance after spending this much on such quality.
Work of Art:
by Tony M from USA, February 2006
The Adam Audio S3a's has to be the most honest sounding speakers that i have ever heard...period.
I am a professional ME, and work on other brands of monitors such as Genelec, Proacs Studio 100, and my trusty NS10's.
When i started using the S3a's, i felt as if they were the only monitors i needed. The incredible detail that the ribbon tweeters reveal, has yet to be surpassed. The midrange is very revealing and depthy, with great sound stage and stereo imaging. These are very precise speakers with excellent trasients.
I am flawed by thier incredible detail... and lost for words.
