The Rack Ruler!

No time for rackspace math? Use our rack ruler instead. It's a genuinely handy tape measure incremented in both rackspaces (red) and inches (black) down to 1/12" scale. Measuring 2" wide by 96" (8 feet) long, its Mylar-coated retracting steel tape is housed in a tough ABS case with a thumb lock and belt clip. This is a rugged tool, not a toy.

As a youngster, I was truant a lot. As a result, I didn't get the opportunity to really ingrain into my brain the concept of multiplying and dividing fractions. This became problematic when later, as a studio engineer, my handicap was exposed. "Hey Ron... I've got two foot five worth of shelf here... how many rack spaces can I fit into there?" "Um, let's see... one and three quarters inches per rack space, divided by nineteen inches... uh... Four hundred and twenty?"
